This two-day program, provided by the Canadian Red Cross, is classified as an Intermediate First Aid Course by WorkSafeBC. It adheres to the provincial regulatory requirements and is aligned with the CSA Z1210-17, Canadian Safety Standards as well, which makes this certificate valid across Canada. It also includes a CPR Level “C/AED” certification (adult, infant and child) which follows the Childcare Licensing Board of BC requirements. The curriculum includes basic first aid which includes cardiovascular and respiratory emergencies, CPR for adults and children, AED (Automated External Defibrillation), prevention of disease transmission, serious medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine. People seeking employment in the oil and gas industry are typically required to hold this first aid ticket along with other private sectors.
PLEASE NOTE:
Recertification can be done in one day rather than two. This is ONLY for individuals who DO NOT need to fulfill WorkSafeBC requirements as first aid attendants. If you need to recertify and need to satisfy the requirements of WSBC, you must complete the two-day program. This would be suitable for people fulfilling requirements for private sectors. When recertifying, your certificate MUST be valid. Please contact our office to book your recertification.
